UPDATE: Our clients have raised over $400! We have since dropped off 82 bottles of detergent and bleach, plus 8 “Adopt Me” vests (a special request from the shelter) (Not including dropps’ generous donation!) Our latest shipment was in May and we’ll be able to do one more in early summer. Should we do a mid-year Bubble Trouble fundraiser? We think so.
This may be the oddest fund raiser we've ever run! We're collecting laundry detergent for PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society.) The shelter is in DIRE need of laundry detergent and bleach to wash bedding for the pets under their care. (When there is no detergent, there are no blankets in the kennels...) PAWS is constantly running out of detergent, so we figured we'd help them get a stock pile together. (A standard bottle of detergent only last TWO days at the sheler!!!) My family always gives practical gifts during the holidays, and I figure that laundry detergent is a pretty practical gift.
Rather than pick up detergent from our participating clients (hopefully you!), we thought we'd make it easier for everyone involved. Not only would pick up require clients to make another errand during an already busy season, it would be heavy for the Minders to lug around! Plain and simple. I picked up four bottles of detergent from the grocery store the other day and my arms almost fell off by the time I got home.
So, for $5 we can buy a bottle of bleach and a bottle of detergent (generic brands). We're asking clients to make a $5 donation. For that small donation, a bottle of bleach and a bottle of detergent will be delivered to PAWS by us. (If you want to donate more, the number of bottles will increase respectively. $10 = 2 bottles of bleach & 2 bottles of detergent, $15= 3 bottles of bleach and 3 bottles of detergent and so on.) Our goal is to drop off AT LEAST 40 bottles of bubbles n' bleach to PAWS. Can you help make it happen? Can you assure that the pets get to sleep on clean blankets? (We reached our goal for the 2007 Mutt Strut, let’s do it again!)
Donating is easy. Just email us and tell us you want to participate. We’ll add $5 to your next invoice (or however much you want to donate) and we’ll buy and deliver bottles o’ bubbles n’ bleach to PAWS on your behalf. Keep checking back for updates!
