We are looking for dynamic and trustworthy dog lovers to join our team. If you're the kind of person who stops dogs on the street to say “hello,” we want you to work with us! Do you embarrass your friends because you speak in goofy voices to random dogs you pass while walking down the street? We're an award winning team, so we only ask the best of the best to join us. If you think you have what it takes, read on.
If you love to spend time outdoors, are a self-starter, and able to manage an ever-changing schedule, this is the job for you. Needless to say, you must ADORE dogs and have tons of experience with them.
Many of the walkers in Philly are hired as “independent contractors” - we do not hire contractors. When joining our crew you become a valued employee. As such, we do not accept applicants that are using the position as a “second job” or a way to make “a little extra cash.” This position is for folks who want long-term employment in the professional pet field. Do not apply if you are “in between jobs.”

Have an extremely flexible schedule. Schedules can, and often do, change daily. Candidates must posses to the ability to mange their own, ever-changing schedule. -
Infinite situations will arise for pet sitters. Ideal candidates will show the ability to think quick under pressure & modify actions accordingly. -
Applicants who have pets of their own are given priority. (If you are a pet parent, please bring vet records to the interview.) -
Be 21 years or older & wiling to undergo a criminal background check. -
Have exceptional written and verbal skills for interactions with our human clients. -
Be able to work Monday-Friday 10AM – 6PMPM, some weekends, nights, and holidays as needed by clients. No exceptions. There is NO part-time work available. (See below - most positions will start part-time, and increase to full time over the course of 2-4 weeks) -
Be able to work Christmas & Thanksgiving - we are pet sitters after all! (Generous holiday compensation...) -
Be dependable. Our clients rely on our dependability. If you are the kind of person who takes sick days monthly, this is NOT the job for you. -
You must be able to handle the physical requirements of the job. You will be walking for 5-6 hours a day. Minders must be able to handle pulling dogs, diarrhea explosions, muddy dog parks, and slobber. Must be fit and injury-free. -
Have a willingness to work in sleet, snow, heat waves, and 40 degree rain. Everyday can’t be 70 degrees and sunny. -
Access to reliable transportation. (Bike, scooter or car. Bike is preferred for ease of travel and parking.) -
Must live in Center City (between Front & 40th, Girard & Snyder – or extremely close to this area.) We do not hire commuters. -
You MUST have access to the Internet & a cell phone 24 hours a day. All visits must be “checked off” on our online software throughout the day. NO exceptions! For quality control purposes, we have to KNOW services have been completed. -
Be able to commit to a long term commitment. No seasonal work is available. Do not apply if you cannot commit at least 18 months to being a professional dog walker. -
Being a pet care professional MUST be a priority. This job takes a lot of time (even during weekends) & there is a lot of running around (meetings, key swaps, supply pick up, etc.) The ideal candidate will have the ability to “go with the flow,” but do so in a professional manner that is befitting of our award-winning service. Flexibility is crucial. -
Willingness to complete a Pet First Aid & CPR class & participated in ongoing training. (and awesome staff meetings)

Part-time to full time: All positions start as part-time, and will expand into full-time after a trial period. (You will not jump into full time work. It will take about a month to get you a full time schedule. We also need to see how you perform as a walker before giving you a full roster of clients. All walkers will go through a trial period.)
Knowledge of humane training techniques, animal nutrition and dog behavior a major plus. Impress us. We look for the best. If you do not have dog experience, this is not the job for you.
