Jen Brown

Monster Minder since 2012

Before joining with The Monster Minders, Jen worked at a popular doggy daycare in Philadelphia for two years.  She knew she was ready for a change, but wanted to remain a pet professional, so joining Team Minder was the perfect transition for her.  (She has actually been an independent dog walker since 2005...)  She says, “The key to being a successful dog walker is asking a LOT of questions and following through for your clients.”  Yep!  She says she’s always simply loved caring for pets...

Growing up she had just about every pet a kid could have.  No kidding.  She got a pet goat for her 12th birthday.  (If you were wondering, she grew up on a farm...)  Her current companion is a cat named Beeba.  Beeba was found on a rainy night in October of 2011. Jen couldn’t just leave her there in the rain, so she brought her home.  She says, “It was the decision I ever made. She is a crazy nut who does laps around my house, breaks everything, and throws temper tantrums, but she's my baby.”  In the Summer of 2012 she rescued another kitten that she found under a car.  It was a bit of a rocky start (the kitten was sick, malnourished and had ringworm!), but he’s healthy and happy now!

When she’s not walking her daily dogs, or wrangling her crazy felines, you can find her reading, exploring the city, making jewelry and trying out new restaurants.  One day she’d love to open up her own animal rescue so she’s trying to get as much experience in the professional pet world as she can.  She says, “It kills me to see all of these cats around my neighborhood that would make amazing pets, but don't have a home.”

Jen joins us for walking in Logan Square, Rittenhouse, Fitler Square and Graduate Hospital...
