What Does a Dog Walking Company Owner Actually Do All Day?

Ever wonder what goes through a dog walking company owner's head all day? Here's a pretty accurate glimpse into the questions, notifications, and dog-related mysteries that fill mine.

If you were to peek into my home office at any given time during walking hours, there's a decent chance I'm checking a Visit Report, checking the radar for thunderstorms, solving a scheduling puzzle, sending text messagess about poop, or trying to determine which dog is currently carrying around a mystery toy that doesn't belong to them.

After more than 21 years in business, I've learned that professional dog walking isn't really about the walk. Of course, the walk matters. (It's in the name right?) Dogs need exercise, enrichment, companionship, fresh air, and a chance to get some steps in. But what our clients are really looking for is peace of mind. They want to know someone is paying attention when they can't be there.

Most of the work happens behind the scenes. Our clients see the Visit Report arrive on their phone, a happy photo, and a dog that's ready for a nap when they get home. What they don't always see are the countless small decisions, observations, and conversations that help make that experience possible.

When everything is running smoothly, our clients get to focus on work, meetings, errands, exams, and everything else life throws at them.

Since 2005, we've had the privilege of caring for monsters while giving their people one less thing to worry about. And if my inner monologue sounds a little chaotic, it's because every notification represents a dog we care about and a family that has trusted us with an important part of their day.

If you're looking for a Philadelphia dog walker who pays attention to the little things, we'd love to meet you.
